Ethnographic research conducted in multiple retail and warehouse facilities identified the need for a mobile solution that could capture inventory and point-of-sale data beyond the range of a six foot corded device. Insights gained from the research allowed Altitude to develop a breakthrough product that created an entirely new approach to heavy-duty scanners in the marketplace. A modular approach was adopted with three interchangeable parts: a top canopy, a mid-section and a handle section, making the line easily expandable and able to incorporate different aesthetics for retail and industrial use. A forward-scanning pistol grip was developed, centering the mass of the product over the hand and lower arm allowing comfortable use for long periods of time in scan intensive environments. The integration of a batch data collection capability allows workers to wirelessly operate within a 150-foot range, eliminating the common problem of failed cords in rough industrial environments. The P360 is IP54-rated making it rugged enough for warehouse and extreme environments where dust, moisture and accidental drops are an everyday occurrence.
