Sun Microsystems asked Altitude to create a distinctive visual identity on its new server platform for demanding work group applications in the high-end visualization technology market. Altitude responded by creating a unique visual identity that reflected the attributes of performance, functionality, visual quality and unrivaled speed that the new product was intended to deliver. A cleverly devised system of signature elements allows for a vast array of components to be configured in infinite combinations across the whole product line in a clear and meaningful way. Covers, doors, hinges, internal shields, movable logo badges, locks, panels, separation sleeves, drive covers, rack mounting features and multiple media boxes were all designed to be highly modular yet distinctive. The visualization server product line balances the needs of business against a relevant, differentiated and memorable brand language.
