To establish further market presence in the professional photography market, Polaroid asked Altitude to partner with them in developing a new multi-transparency scanner that provides high resolution scans of all transparent film media. Designed with three film carriers, the Polaroid SprintScan can provide high resolution scans of media up to 6x9cm, including both mounted 35mm slides and strips (positives and negatives). The overall appearance of the product is designed to be friendly and intuitive, yet fit visually within a professional environment. The introduction of the 120-film scanner increased Polaroid's market share in the professional photography and imaging segment. This was because of its dedication to medium format scanning, a category not specifically targeted by the industry's incumbents.
