When Articulate Systems, Inc. wanted to realize their vision of a breakthrough new dictation/scanning tool for radiologists, they enlisted Altitude to lead them though its unique development process. Advancements in speech recognition technology now enable radiologists to dictate and receive directly formatted text, thus eliminating the need for transcription. Observational research revealed the need for a hand held, lightweight, ergonomic solution that allowed the radiologist to move around more freely during a review session with patients and/or colleagues. Control over patient data was highly desired and a barcode scanner was integrated to facilitate speedy retrieval and tracking of data - via an innovative quick navigation interface. The PowerScribe has become the defacto interface that radiologists employ to convert speech into text for medical dictation.
